Dr. Coffee 2007

This is a new café in Barcelona, with a selection of top-quality coffees.
The name, chosen by the client, suggests specialisation or mastership of coffee. In the 1950s and 1960s, a lot of brands with a similar approach appeared, like Mister Minit, Mister Proper, Dr Marteens or Doctor No.
We decided to give the graphics a sixties feel like the name, using a Belizio typeface, which transmits rhythm and good humour when upper and lower case are combined.
In order to communicate the high quality of the products, we used a combination of serious, masculine colours, with black backgrounds and small amounts of coffee-coloured brown. As an iconic reference to "Doctor" we used the medical cross symbol, made up of a mesh of halftones.
